WHAT IS NANDU DAKAR
We put the key on the bike and give gas. The engine roars and waits instructions. The challenge has begun. Nandu Dakar is near. I am Nandu Jubany, chef and food lover, but from a young age there’s another thing that also drives me crazy, something that arouses such passion in me when we create experiences for captivate the palate of my guests: I love motorcycles.
Since childhood I’ve got gasoline in the blood and I compete successfully in my youth. Injuries kept me away the first level and the cookery became my main dedication, but the bikes have remained a faithful companion in my leisure time.
Anyway, I never abandoned the bikes and I continued training during my free time. Now, when I’m 45, I decided to return to the world of racing.
I want to savor the experience of running the Dakar, but mostly I want to marry in a single project, two great passions: the world of the engine and solidarity campaigns.
COMMITMENT TO THE PROJECT ARI
I’ll go to the Dakar with a goal of solidarity: take advantage of all the media coverage I may have to give maximum publicity to the ARI Project, an initiative to raise funds in favor of research and treatment of leukemia.
There is no better fuel for my bike that know that every day I will run with a beautiful objective for Project ARI. Dissemination achieved more and more people know the initiative and they can make donations to improve the situation of people with leukemia and advance to find its cure.
I am convinced that together we will make this great project by making our contribution. In Spain, we say that we help “putting our sand grain in a project” to achieve a big accomplishment with all these “sand grains”. And if it is sand, I will search the dunes to take them all tucked in my pockets!
